M14: 'Follow-up of water treatment - laboratory'
Would you like to refresh and/or refine your practical skills in the laboratory in one day?
EPAS International offers a one-day course in which you, together with our laboratory manager, will analyse a wastewater sample and a sample from the biological treatment plant for the usual parameters.
The day starts with a short briefing about safety in the laboratory. These are standard rules that can be applied to any laboratory within the water purification sector. Afterwards, some basic skills of the participants, such as pipetting and weighing, will be tested against our internal quality system.
The participants each take a sample of the influent, the biological purification and the effluent of their water purification. The influent sample is analyzed for COD, COD, N & P. Afterwards the sample of the biological purification is analyzed for SVI, MLSS, MLVSS and a microscopic analysis is performed.
The day ends with a few exercises based on the results obtained. During the course there are regular moments for open questions and answers.
This course was specifically created for operators of water treatment plants who must also be responsible for the analytical follow-up of the treatment.
The course requires a basic knowledge of chemistry. Knowledge of the modules M1: 'Basic chemistry of water: applications on wastewater' and M2: 'Basic principles of aerobic water treatment' is strongly recommended.
